I am doing a college project regarding the life of puppies from 0-8 weeks.  Would Breeders from observation of theirs puppy litters be kind enough to advise me if puppies ALWAYS, SOMETIMES, NEVER want to be with and follow their mother around?

Does this vary with their age?  For instance by 7-8 weeks and prior to leaving for their new homes would they prefer to follow their mother or amuse themselves or play with a litter mate?
