my labs keep eating and tearing their bedding at night... they are running about all day and well excercised so they are not bored but when i put them into their kennel run at night they tear what ever i put into their bed to make them cosy.... is there anything i could do or use that they would not eat.... i have thick rubber matting on the floor of their bed and they even have a chew at it. i just want them to be comfortable. they usually go into their run about 11pm and out again about 6.30 sometimes an hour later...

I find that rubber matting is fine for the summer as it is very hot if you add blankets to thier kennels, But I also use shedded paper in the winter as this is already in bits so there's not too much more they can do to it, although mine love to dig in it when i first put it in.

Hi Cally, try buying vet bed, the thicker kind. It should not be so easy for them to destroy :)

I have the same problem with my Goldens. I've just given up and only use plastic beds with no bedding in. It got too dangerous with anything else as one of them actually swallows whatever she rips to pieces. I've tried everything -blankets, rugs, vet bed, leather imitation covered blankets etc.
