Poor old Roxy keeps getting her dew claw caught in the I.D. tag ring on her collar. When this happens she can't move and screams (anyone know the infamous shiba scream? It's LOUD). I've now taken to removing the collar, but as she nips out to the car with me I'd rather have a collar on her, even though she's not a "runner".
Does anyone know of an I.D. device that fits to the collar itself (she wears a rolled leather collar) perhaps by curling around it or similar?
I only know of the various I.D. tags that attach via keyring-type rings.
Thanks

Have you not tried the collars that have the details stitched into them that sounds ideal for you.
Sure i've seen them in the dog mags or papers.

You star Sarah - why didn't I think of that?
On the UK site I looked at they were £14.99 each, but on the USA one, I got two for £18.39 which includes an $11.50 shipping charge.
Thanks ! :D
Vicki, would you mind telling me where you looked for them please? PM me if you prefer :D

You can also get tags that thread onto the collar.

ooh where from BB? these tags with the keyring things are always coming loose and so falling off somewhere then I have to keep replacing them. Also found that the information wears off and you have to look very hard to read it :(

OOps just looked at their collars and they are the ones that don't 'undo', half checks, so maybe thats not such a good idea.
If none of the other options appeal or work you could always buy a pouch to put them in - dont know if they work but there are several companies in the US sell little neoprine (sp?) pouches that clip over the tag and ring, although they are designed to stop them clinking they could solve your problem.

Here you go found these in the dog mag www.petsafe.uk.com they are normal flat collars from £14.50 embroiderey inc.
if you check out agilitynet.co.uk website and click on the shop you will find both the collars with embroidary and the id plates that can be threaded onto a buckle collar. I personally have the embroidered collars. Very good quality and after 18 months still going strong.
You can buy dog collars with a metal plate sewn into them. If you go to a key cutters or somewhere like that they will usually put your details into them. This stops anyloose stitching falling out!

Just a warning everyone - only one collar has arrived so far from Pet Tags and the emroidery is incorrect (telephone number wrong) so it is less than useless. No sign of the second one and have now sent 3 emails to this company and they have failed to respond to any of them. What a waste of £18

These tags work very well, the writing does not wear off, they seem to last forever. Good luck finding what you need.
