Got home from work today and what a greeting. There were ten (yes, ten) portions of sick and runny poo all over the downstairs carpet, some of the sick even looked like it had blood in it.
It is Roxy - 9 y/o JSI - she was a bit off colour this morning and poo a bit runny, but I wasn't unduly worried.
She seems fine now, in fact asking for her dinner. Not sure if feeding her is a good idea - looks like at least a 24 hour fast to me.
She had nothing out of the ordinary yesterday, just her Nature Diet and one bonio and one rodeo chewie. Lennon had almost the same, just not a rodeo chew, he has a Denta Stick instead.
Any ideas anyone?

Hi Vicki, I'd starve her like you're already thinking :( She'll be feeling grotty anyway so probably even though she's looking for food between having an upset tum and the heat (it's really humid here) she might not really be that fussed anyway.
She could easily have found a morsel of something iffy in the garden and originally been quite proud of herself for beating Lennon to it  has been known in the best of households - even this one ;)
Hope she feels better in the morning.
hugs 'n stuff, Teri

Thanks Teri - I was going to give her a Bonio in the morning as this will be the 24 hour point, otherwise she'll go 36 hours before food as dinnertime is around the 4pm mark. Do you think that'll be ok?
Thanks hon xx

If she's used to having them first thing then possibly *but* have to say I'd personally give something a little lighter and less fibre in view of how much yuk (technical term obviously :D ) you described. If you have some fish or chicken in the freezer perhaps just a couple of table spoons of that mashed up and see how she copes before you decide on what to feed at 4-00 pm.
You'll probably know best yourself by how she progresses throughout this evening - basically it's a judgement call babes :)
Hope all's OK. Teri

Hi
I would suggest keeping her hydrated with water but only small amounts often rather then a full bowl of water where she might over indulge and bring it back up, I would also starve her for twenty four hours and keep an eye on her.we have just got our little fella back this morning (18 week old westie) from the vets after he has spent 2 nights in there on a drip turned out he had eaten a black slug and ended up with gastroentiratus.can't believe how quiet the house was with out him!!.

Thanks Johnh - I gave our other JSI, Lennon, some dry food tonight, rather than open a pack of Nature Diet just for one, and Roxy keeps trying to nick it - she really is hungry......I know it's necessary, but I can't help feeling a bit mean.....

I think it's worse than the kids. I only have one daughter (34 this year) and I don't remember feeling like this with her LOL. I suppose I'm also a little wary of any illness with this breed, as I've had them since 1984 and lost three to cancer aged between 9 and 10. They are supposed to live till around 15.......and with Roxy being around "that age" I'm a little nervous. Thank gawd for CD and all my friends on here, who are used to me by now (you know who you are T) :)

Great news Vicki, give her a hug from me :) Like Lucy says it could have been a temp related thing too - my dogs are really not themselves at all at the moment, only picking at their food (can still steal goodies off the work top in the blink of an eye though  ) and pretty much sleeping all the time (should make the most of it really :P ) Teri

HI Teri, yes, even Lennon was off his food yesterday. However, today they were both very hungry and tonight have both scoffed all their ND with great gusto!
