he was breech and i cant get him to breath :(
- By Val [gb] Date 21.06.05 10:19 UTC
Breech doesn't matter.  Make sure he's got no fluid in his lungs and KEEP rubbing - I've had them breath after half an hour!!
- By kayc [gb] Date 21.06.05 10:21 UTC
Place puppy in palm of hand, hold firmly upside down and swing very gently back and fold a couple of times. wrap up in a towel and rub very firmly, and repeat.  Take a little pipette and suck any flud from nose and mouth, keep warm and keep rubbing.
- By Val [gb] Date 21.06.05 10:23 UTC
Support pup's neck between your fingers while you swing!!
- By kayc [gb] Date 21.06.05 10:24 UTC
Oops, thanks val :)
- By mackleback Date 21.06.05 10:30 UTC

- By Enfielrotts [eu] Date 21.06.05 10:51 UTC
So sorry to hear about the pups, just be sure to follow those steps that are listed above with next pups, be sure to remove all gunk from the pups as soon as they get out, rub and swing - once they are breathing put them too mum but not until that point - Good luck xx

Contact your vet immediately,
- By Cazzie1978 [gb] Date 21.06.05 10:50 UTC
I have he's on his way out
- By Blue Date 21.06.05 11:44 UTC
When the vet comes tell him how long ago the temp was down etc as I suspect the puppies should maybe have been born by now and certainly as you have 2 dead.  If need be get the OXI.  Rots have big litters and you don't want to lose anymore.  I am not trying to panick you so please dont but if it was me I would be wanting the rest of the pups here very soon.

Fingers , toes and all the paws crossed the rest are OK..

Don't worry about letting us know concentrate on your bitch.
- By Tenno [gb] Date 21.06.05 12:00 UTC
Good luck - fingers crossed for you

- By mackleback Date 21.06.05 12:39 UTC

- By Enfielrotts [eu] Date 21.06.05 12:44 UTC
Oh no, I am sure she is in great hands.  Fingers crossed she has some lovely baby's that are healthy and will give you loads of joy however I know exactly how you feel and getting your baby back safe and sound is the most important thing - best wishes, thinking of you xx

hi all
jazmyne is now home from the vets and is fine all things considered :( there were no more pups hence the difficult time and loss of the 2 born :(
vet said i did nothing wrong .. this sometimes happens its just natures way .. 1 of the pups had died weeks ago inside her and this had caused the difficulty and eventual death of the other :(
Main thing being my girl is ok,,:) a little out of it with the sedation they gave her for x-rays .. they gave her some antibiotics to stop any infection occuring and said she will be out of sorts for a few days .. main worry i have now is that she knows she had babies,, will she start looking for them if so is there anything i can do to ease this as vet didnt offer any advice in this department .. i feel so bad for my girl right now as she just looks so lost and out of it :( im absolutely devastated by the events of today and im just glad the ordeal is over for all of us and we can get back to normal ... needless to say jazmyne will be getting spayed after this as i can not go through that kind of heartache worry and upset again and im not prepared to put her through it either .. :(
- By Isabel Date 21.06.05 17:11 UTC
So sorry but glad jazmyne has got through it OK, bad things happen sometimes in breeding :(.  I doubt she will grieve as badly as you especially if you put on a brave face and get her back to the old routine as soon as possible.  As with a phantom don't let her adopt objects, reduce her food to slightly less than normal and as soon as she seems fit enough get her outside for some nice walks, heat permitting, it will do you both good :)
- By Cazzie1978 [gb] Date 21.06.05 17:19 UTC
thanks isabel will do that .....
i just want to say thanks to all of you for all your help advice and support through this very sad day for us .. its been a real help .. you really are a kind caring bunch of people :)
thankyou
cazzie & jazmyne xxxx

- By justlou Date 21.06.05 18:21 UTC
Oh i'm so sorry :-( my thoughts are with you and your baby right now :-)
- By Vicki [gb] Date 21.06.05 19:23 UTC
Cazzie, it's very sad that you lost the two pups, but the most important thing is that Jasmine is ok, which you have already stated.  My best wishes go to you both for a speedy recovery :)
- By carene [in] Date 21.06.05 20:47 UTC
I'm so sorry that you had such a very sad and disappointing day. I trust Jasmine makes a full and speedy recovery. :-)
- By Val [gb] Date 21.06.05 20:53 UTC
You've had a difficult time Cazzie.  I think that it's a very wise decision to have your bitches spayed.
- By debsspaniel [gb] Date 21.06.05 22:17 UTC
So sorry to read your news, glad your girl is ok, debbie .
- By Emily Rose [gb] Date 21.06.05 22:40 UTC
Oh, I am sorry about the babies Cazzie :(, but am so glad that Jazmyne has come through and seems ok.....give her some extra cuddles tonight.

If nothing else it really puts it into persepective that its not as straight forward as some people think.

Keep us posted, let us know how she recovers

Emily :)

hi all thanks for your kind thoughts ...
jazmyne seems much better today still alittle out of it .. had a very quiet night with her she slept most of it didnt want to eat.. my husband stayed up with her just to keep an eye on her and make sure she was ok so that i could go and get some sleep ... we kept her away from other dogs last night so that she could have some rest and peace n quiet this morning she actually kicked up a fuss to be with them so we let her in with them for a little while just to see how she went .. she was playing with the pup which is a good sign so hopefully she well on her way to being back to normal :) and she ate her breakfast today with gusto so thats a good start :)
- By MINI-MEG [gb] Date 22.06.05 10:30 UTC

Glad to hear Jazmyne is doing ok.  So sorry to hear about the complications, you must be heart broken but like you say having your baby back healthy is the most important thing.  I think you are doing the right thing getting her spayed, I know I could not go through that twice.  Chin up chuck, give her loads of cuddles and a big hug from me ;) x
- By darleneaw [us] Date 23.06.05 04:26 UTC
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of the puppies and what you went through.  I'm so glad your girl is ok.  I'm thinking of you
