I am currently undergoing volunteer training with Women's Aid and have been looking at the organisations they deal with to include on our database at work and have come across an absolutely wonderful organsiation called Paws for Kids and wanted to let you lot know about it. unfortunatley I don't quite meet the criteria as I'm over the border!!

Thank you for drawing this site to our attention Fiona. I am relieved to see that someone has had the foresight to address the problem of domestic violence/children + pets at long last. Lets hope that the organisation grows to cover the rest of the UK ........ it is needed.

I have heard of this organisation in I think it was Dogs today magazine, a few issues ago, they had photos of some of the dogs and kids. A truly worthwhile cause I reckon. Like you i am "over the border"!

A shame it only serves a certain area. if any one knows of any other groups that provide a similar servcie please let me know. Having told my colleagues here about this org, a few have expressed an interest in fostering, but as I siad before over the border in Wales and it's NW England.
