I have a beautiful fawn leonberger/german shepherd cross (mum was the leonberger, dad the german shepherd) and I would like her to have puppies. Does anyone have a similar cross or failing that, I would like to put her to a full leonberger. Any offers?
Sorry but most reputable breeders would not mate this dog!!

Just wondering guest , did this cross come from a lady in Devon , as a lady i know who has leos quite a long time and she had a bitch out on breeding terms with a lady in devon, and this bitch produced a litter of gsd cross leos?
They were sold for about £450 each and the lady in devon is thinking of doing it again, and i know the people at the leo club were furious!!!
But in answer to your question , no good breeder would let you use there pedigree dog as there are far to many dogs in rescue as there is.

To deliberately breed a litter of cross breeds is irresponsible unless they are bred to work(Lurchers etc). There are thousands of crosses in rescue centres looking for homes.
If you decide to ignore the advice given then please be aware that you bitch and any dog you use must be hip scored.GSD suffer from hip displacia and I think so do Leonbergers and so this cross will have a tendancy towards it too.The fact that your dog is a cross will not mean that it has good hips or will produce good hips...there is no such thing as 'hybrid vigour'

Well said Archer,
I would love to know if it was the same lady as the Leo club are keen to speak to her!

This would just ruin this wonderful breed. Please dont do it. The health problems with the pups could be awful and you could be liable.
