I have been taking her outside every 30min-hour and yes she sometimes goes and i heap on the praise But its very difficult to know if she needs to go no circling or sniffing and she tends to go wherever she is.Do you think shes just a bit young yet as all my other dogs were 12wks when i got them she is 8wks and a different breed altogether a staffie and a gobby one at that :)

We got our puppy when he was only 7 weeks old (because we had to travel over 300 miles to get him). We took him outside every hour on the hour, after wakening and feeding. We waited with him for about 5 mins and if he did something we piled on the praise, if not we would take him back in and try again next time. We had to keep a close eye on him so that if he did do a pee in the house, we could pick him straight up and take him outside. Wait a while, then take him back in again (the mess would be cleaned up when he wasnt there). This worked for us extremely quickly! He was house trained in 5 days!! :D But i am a stay at home mum, so could spend all my time keeping a close eye on him! ;-) Just keep with it, and i am sure sh4e will get the hang of it soon! Good Luck!! :-)

Im a stay at home mum to and keep a very close eye but she gives no signals like my other dogs did as i say all the other dogs were 12wks and was just wondering maybe its because she only 8wks and plus the fact that to my horror the pup,mum and dad were kept outside in the breeders garden :0 so therefore she was i presume doing her buisness wherever and whenever and was eating it too yuk put a stop to that part straight away

My puppy gave me no signals as to when he was needing either. (until is was too late!) :-) I just used the 1 hour technique and he soon got used to it. It sounds like you are doing all the right things. :-) Just stick with it.
Good Luck! :-)

PS...my pup was being kept outside with littermates and mum when we went to collect him too.

Most litters of pups will be spending at least dome time outside by the time they are ready to go to their new homes.  Trying to rear them entirely indoors would in many instances be impractical and undesireable they need to have both outside stiumulation and fresh air and sunshine but of course understand everything that does on indoors.

At 8 weeks a puppy is simply incapable of the sort of control to do more than aim for an open door if it is near it when it needs to go.  Thsi si why it is wise not to have them free in too large an area, as they won't be by the dooor in time.

She has the door open most of the day as it is in the living room but she doesnt seem bothered to go out there

She hasn't twigged that it's required yet.

It just takes time, my 15 week old Staffy for the last few nights has only just started staying dry all night, she will hold it until we let her out at around 5am.
She still wees in the house occassionally but its just a waiting thing, some dogs develop quicker than others.
