Fantastic! I applied to start a 3yr Foundation Degree in Canine Behaviour and Training, about halfway through May - I got the acceptance letter the other day! YES!
I'm on a real high now - I told my Dad and he wasn't impressed though, because it means he'll have to actually fill in the loan request form ;) On the upside, it's a part time course so any loan is non-repayable. I know my sis will be pleased when I tell her, can't wait to! I'd like to go and look round the college - apparently they have all the facilities, private agility setup, tracking facilities, detection training (i think), and a dog day care - but it's a 5 hour drive, and I'm skint.
It's a strange thing though - I finished a BSc in Animal Management last May, and I couldn't egt out of there fast enough - I'd hated it for two and a half of the three years! And yet here I am again, off to college (well, studying at home anyway!). Very odd! Mum'd be pleased if she were still here - she was desperate that I finish my BSc, even though she wasn't here to see me do it. I'm damn well going to finish this one though - it's a lot more refined in terms of subject matter than the animal management course - that covered everything from raising beef and dairy calves to keeping iguanas, degus and goats and many other things! I think that was the problem - too varied. But dogs are my life and always will be, so this course is right up my street - also it'll allow me to go out and start training for a living (am grooming at the moment), which would be a dream come true - I already plan to run agility classes :D
Just had to share, I'm so excited!
