Well it's been warm here in Sunny old Manchester for the last few days.  Bright sunshine between many clouds.  Well now for the last hour it's been thundering, lightening, hailstoning and absolutely pouring it down.  There I was thinking that I may get a bit of colour to my lilly white body :d

Spent a lovely sunny afternoon at Debdale Park in Manchester and as soon as we arrived home the heavens opened, thunder, lightening screaming kids. The satelite tv is also down. :-(

iam not to far from manchester and about 1hr1/2 ago we thought we were going to get a twister we were sat in the garden as the sky went from blue to dark grey in a matter of minuets kids were out chasing ice cream man next thing as the clouds started to come together they started swirling like something ive never seen before then the phones ringing its my sis asking were the kids are as she thinks there might be a twister!! and tells me to look at the clouds and i must admit a bit of panic started to set in oh ran round corner to grab the kids in ( like something out of a film) anyway the clouds just stopped and the thunder and lightining started and hasnt really stopped since..

My husband thought there might be a twister (there was a mini one last week) becasue all of sudden, before the thunder the trees were bending in the strong wind. Weird.

- By Dill [gb] Date 19.06.05 18:38 UTC
Gosh - haven't seen a twister round here since 1976  - yes I'm that old LOL

I have a small weather thermometer in my garden and yesterday it recorded 35C, today the same  it isn't in the sun, so that was the air temp.

Too hot for me :(  I put washing out in the sun and in 5 mins I was soaked :(  have kept dogs in this weekend or they'd sun themselves to death   We'll be walking around 10 pm, any earlier and it'll be too hot :(

Lets not moan - my husband, in the forces, is in Bahrain at the moment. When he phoned yesterday it was 42, and the air con in his room has broken !!!
- By Dill [gb] Date 19.06.05 18:47 UTC
Well at least he'supposed to have air con ;)  You don't see much air con in Wales LOL  - all I've got is a 12" fan, but I wouldn't be without!
- By Moonmaiden Date 19.06.05 18:46 UTC
I've just got back from Border Union on the way home the outside temp was 30 Thank god for Air Con & at the show people were still being called to their cars for their dogs :O

Ok should have read this before I went running this morning.
Went out to take Sam swimming at 5 and should have stayed in :( It was sooooo hot!!!! (cant believe i ran in it!!)
And looks as if it will be the same tommorow. Lovely, tidying an enclosed garden in this heat!!!
oh well, just bought 8 litres of water. think they will come in handy!!!
Lea (who is very conscious how many exclamation marks she uses thanks to Melody!!!) :)

Moonmaiden,

Don't some people make you sick?  They are supposed to be dog lovers!

We went to a market town yesterday (Had no choice, had to pick up an ordered item) and in the little time we spent there I was amazed at the number of dogs being dragged about by their owners, sitting in full sun etc.  Some of them looked fit to drop, and most of them looked as if they hadn't had any exercise in a long while :(  Why do these people think that wearing a full fur coat will be fun in strong sun??
- By Moonmaiden Date 19.06.05 19:02 UTC
Precisely these are the people who should be setting the example to Joe Public

We left early so the boys could enjoy the air con in the car, they had four fans & a cool mattress in their crate & my younger boy was still being to suffer he has an excess of coat(in my eyes)my little one(who is older) coped well & he has just enough coat to get by in the ring

We left at 1 & were home at 5 30 despite having to travel with no front passenged window as some kind person broke into my car this morning The glass firm wouldn't fit perspex it because the doors are frameless even though they have done it twice before

Still ran the air con & had the boys five fans on in their transit box !

Been really hot here in cardiff for 2 days now.
But my poor dog is suffering, couldnt take her out for a walk until really late last night.
She had a nice day to day under the hose pipe lol.
I decided to stain my decking yesturday, wrong idea was too bl--dy hot.
Sun bathed to day, got matching head lights lol.
Thunder and rain expected tomorrow :(

Really hot here in Croydon too. Around 30deg.  Roxy was sensible and has stayed inside most of the day. Lennon has been outside all day but chasing the shade.  Of course now it's fab - I may kip in the garden.... :D
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 19.06.05 20:59 UTC
Surprisingly, the "kennel dogs" decided that the kennels were lovely & cool, beneath the silver birch & rowan trees, and the "house dogs" decided that the tiled floors of the porch and utility room were also far nicer than the garden ;)

Just walked them all now - cooling down nicely (we always manage to have a nice breeze in any case) - and put the sprinkler on the veggies.

I have one suburned arm..... the other stayed in the shade under the sumbrella :D (as our g/daughter calls it) .

Tara is the most sensible of our dogs - she always makes a nest in a cool shrub (which one of her favourites depends on the time of day) :D Bramble follows us around the garden insisting on us throwing his ball for him  He doesn't seem to notice the heat - although he enjoys being drenched with the hose :D

Well the thunder storms haven't cooled it down at all, it's boiling here in Manchester, sure that it's hotter than yesterday.  At 1.00 am this morning it was 24C, I don't think I've ever known it to be that hot in the early hours before, but it feels hotter tonight!

Here in Saskatchewan on wednesday we had a funnel cloud form but thankfully it went away...Rain, thunder, lightening pretty much crapy weather all the way. Finally friday it started to clear some but another weather watch and it started all over again  :( Saturday was beautiful and today it was nice but a cool wind. Supose to be nice for the next 3 days so off I go hopefully to do our hour or so walk around the park and maybe I'll get some color to my white body especially my legs lol

It's gorgeous here in Chester this morning :-)
- By Natalie1212 Date 20.06.05 09:26 UTC
Well it has been very warm here over the last few days, but it isn't a nice clear sky. It starts off a bit cloudy in the morning, but by mid morning it is just hazey till yesterday evening, we had been to Blackpool for the day (topped up my tan from Corfu :) ) we got home about 3.30 and it was absolutly chucking it down, and thundering and lightning all over the place! Was good to watch it though. :D It didnt do much to clear the air, it was still boiling hot last night :(

Lovely in north herts today.  It's warm enough I'm not cold but a lovely breeze :D  I'm just waiting for the thunder to come....
- By judgedredd [gb] Date 20.06.05 16:27 UTC
the rain was so bad yesterday i had to stop the car with many others on the A66, we could not move as the windscreen wipers couldnot cope with the amount of rain chucking down, there was about 20 or more cars that i could make out stopped both lanes just sat there nothing we could do, you just hoped people comming up behind the other realised what was going on, then there was a huge flash of lighting the bush beside us had been hit and smoke was everywhere, when it stopped raining and we could all see the road again we set off, 4 miles up the road there was brilliant sunshine asked OH if it had been raining here he said no it has been like this all day red hot, then he went to put the upstairs tv on last night and nothing. all the transmitors for our area had been knocked out so no Tv YIPEEEEEEE upstairs but still got cable downstairs what a shame. There has been thousands of pounds of damage done in local villages and people have been flooded out of their homes, from northumberland down to yorkshire has been affected.
