i have a GSD 8week pup.. he is already house trained by us.. but suddenly today he's already peed three times on our carpet and he's inactive also.. he just sleeps in front of the shelf where we keep his food. he also is very mouthy he 's bitten the hell outta me. i need some help.. i hope he's not an unfaithful pup. bercause we once had a cat who we loved very much and we thought he loved us too. but one fine day he ran off.. i hope my dog doesnt do the same.

I think at 8 weeks it is unlikely he is housetrained so a few wees inside are bound to happen, what sort of training program are you using? Are you taking him outside after every meal and nap and every 45 mins or so during waking times? Are you using a trigger word for him to learn to associate with weeing or pooing to make it easier in the future? He may be more lethargic because of the warmer weather, I don't know where you are but in the NW of England it is very warm and humid. Has he plenty of access to fresh water. As long as he is drinking well and eating reasonable well he should be alright but make sure he has somewhere cool to settle if you are concerned you should consult a vet.
Dogs are not like cats they do tend to love you unconditionally but he is just getting to know you at the moment. As he matures he, dispite his love ;) he may wish to explore the world a little so it is your responsibility to ensure that his exercise area in your garden is fully capable of containing him and to teach him a good recall for out and about.

We have a 12 week old pup who has only shown signs of becoming fairly reliably housetrained in the last few days and even then, there has still been one or two wees on the floor...our fault, not hers, as we didn't react quickly enough to the signs. Stick with a routine like the one detailed by Isabel and you can't go far wrong. It is important to remember that at this age they are still very much babies and have no bladder/bowel control so accidents should not be punished. Just clean them up quickly with biological washing powder/liquid diluted with water to dicourage him from returning to the same spot to wee again. I would only be concerned about his inactivity if he goes significantly off his food or shows other signs of being unwell. Our two dog have been much more lethargic than usual with it being so warm and humid. We're only exercising our older dog early morning and late at night when its a bit cooler. Also, our puppy has been a little quieter for a day or two after receiving her vaccinations so if he's had these recently he could be feeling a bit off colour. But all puppies need a lot of sleep. With regard to the biting, I'm afraid its pretty much a fact of life with puppies as they all 'mouth' and chew. When he does it, try removing your hand with a firm 'No' and substitute with a toy or chew...he should start to learn what it is acceptable to chew and what isn't. Good luck with him, anyway.
I think you are expecting far too much from an 8 week old puppy. Accidents in the house are to be expected, and they are not the dogs fault. Imagine the puppy as a newborn baby - they are not toilet-trained from 3 months! Just give it some time, but I think this recent patch of very humid, very oppressive weather is probably not helping. Have you noticed him drinking more? I know I am certainly very irritable in this weather, so it might be understandable that he is too. If you are in any doubt though, take him to the vet to be checked over.

mmmmm.tubya.....in your last post he was passing blood and mucus covered faeces and messing everywhere.A week ago you said he was 8 weeks old....surely now hes 9? I am concerned that maybe you are winding us up since you didn't reply to any of the suggestions on your last problem.Apologies in advance if I am wrong.
If you are being straight up I suggest you come back and give us some more info....then maybe we can help.
Archer

Do a search on here for house training and for puppy biting, Iam sure you will got alot of great advice since this is a topic discussed alot... House training can take a good 6 months to a year to be able to fully trust them, just like potty training a child thro repitition your pup will learn... You must go with them at all givin time and be there with them...
Best of luck :)
yeh you are rite archer, the pup was 8weeks last week and surly it isnt possible to fully house train a pup that young1! so the pup must be 9weeks i rearly do hope it isnt a wind up!!!
