Stronghold (a spot-on) is effective against sarcoptic mange/fox mites, two treatments one month apart.  I had to use it on my Springer, she got mange after we had a fox living in our barn and it worked very well. :-)  It's also used for ear mites (packet just says "in cats" so I'm not sure about dogs) fleas and roundworms .

stronghold is good, i had a very bad case a few years ago which was treated with Ivermec injectable but this is not a treatment i would use unless absolutly neccasary,
Try bathing in a mild anti parasitical shampoo  to remove the dirt left by the mites then using strong hold i would imagine the dosage will be quite high for your breed but it is spot on which is put between the shoulder blades. (dont bath after the strong hold)
give your vet a ring they will advise its not that uncommon :)
