Ok, now don't all go sniggering behind my back. Just gone shopping and fancied a change so bought some Yams, now how do I cook them!!!!. Is it best to boil, or can I shove them in the oven as in baked potatoes?

;-) :-)  :-D            Only joking. I've no idea, I remember when I was little eating them mashed in their skins though. I'd guess baking.

Anything you have ever done with a spud really.  I use them in my roasted mediteranian veg mix.  They also go well with other root veg such as parsnip, carrot, turnip, diced coated in a good olive oil, bit of italian seasoning roasted in a high oven for about 50 mins and then roughly mashed mixed with a bit or rice and used to stuff a couple of grilled portabello muchrooms.  Serve with a salad, every low GI!!
Who said life is too short to stuff a mushroom :D

Thanks Isabel, just what I was hoping for :) Not got the mushrooms but have peppers, so will go for my variation on your theme. :D
