Buffy has just come into her first season, she is allowed in the living room and on the sofa, whats the best way to keep the bleeding under control, towels or these panties? New to bitch seasons, so this is my first time too!!

Thai has some knickers :) She gets on fine with them and I have to say they are great for keeping your house blood free - just remember to remove them when she needs a pee LOL, also she may want to clean herself so I let Thai have them off every now and again so that she can make some delightful noises!!!

I would imagine you would need to change the pads very often, perhaps every hour, to avoid infection.

She like my silky thongs best LOL :)  Na you can get them from the pet shop normally, Mikki do some which are better than the leatherette ones you can get :)

Edited to say that my first indication that one of the girls is coming into season - even before Beau & Thor start practising their "singing" is that one of the other girls starts washing the one in question's nether regions!

Rosedoes keep herself clean but she still drips when walking around and lying on the sofa, we always end up following her around with a spoge and bucket.

Why would knickers make more prone to infection? Even if changed every couple of hour?? We don't seem to have that problem???

Yeah I am the same with Thai, you find blood up the walls, on the kitchen doors etc etc so she has the pants on, she has never had an infection as I do keep them changed - when she is outside she does not have them on so gets to clean herself then and give it an air!

That seems very sensible Enfielrotts, all girls should get as much fresh air to their nether regions as they can manage :D

If you were using a sanitary pad (pardon me getting personal :)) you would be advised to change it often as you are enclosing a perfect environment for bacteria to devolop, ie warmth, moisture and food in the form of blood, right next to the vulva and urethra where the bacteria can easily track into the body.
For human girls  nice cotton knickers should allow normal moisture to evaporate, those who wear artificial fabrics may well find themselves suffering more infections, thrush etc and will often be advised to switch to cotton :)

Because the ari won't be getting to the area and the blood will stay in contact with her vulva and infection can then track back up as stale blood will quickly grow bacteria.

Als wering pants will stop her being able to clean herself which is what you want to encourage.

You are better just covering furnishings with a washable sheet or not allowing ehr on the sofa.  If you clan any spots on carpets quickly with cold water they will not leave stains.

TBH Thai must wear hers for about 4 hours a day on and off so I am happy to put them on her as long as I monitor closely :)

Thank you all for you info and advice, I have covered the sofa and kept her out of front room when i'm not around, might get some panties when I take her over to mums as they have very cream carpet and cream sofas, and shes usually naughty when we go to show me up!!

Will see how we get on this time round, my main concern is that she doesn't get next door to their lakeland dog!!! Red is very handsom!!
