Topic Dog Boards / General / Introducing Pteppic...

Pteppic is dog number Four in my household, although technically, he is OH's dog (not for the next two weeks as OH doesnt currently live here until the 25th!!!).

Pteppic is a privately rehomed 9 week old pupper, collie x spaniel, x gsd, although so far just the spaniel and collie is evident -- wonder how he wlil look in a years time!!!!

Dill is amused, mildly. Rocky is not very amused, Abby is ok unless puppy comes near her, then she shows all her pointy pointy teeths and says 'Go. Away. Puppy'.  She is a mean old bag and Pteppic has got that one sussed already.

As much as Rocky is doing his 'not very amused' thing, i keep finding him curled up with the pup, when he wakes up though he goes 'arghhhhh no i didnt mean to curl up with him!".

Dill thinks Pteppic is a present just for him, but like most small children he is more interested in the box he came in rather than the present itself, which proves that even a Dilly dog can grow upa nd mature eventually (rising three now, finally there is a light at the end of the tunnel!).

Anyway, i shall be making Mike join CD when he gets here, as Pteppic is his dog and he will be doing all the training etc :D (tahts the theory anyway...... watch this space!)

Puppy has learned how to YAP!

Grrrrrrr -- big dogs and myself are not impressed!

Still, he has also learned to come down stairs by himself so that kinda makes up for it (he only does it once a day, an it beats him SCREAMING at the top cos he cant get down!)

You been trying to abandon this pup already :D  Leaving him at the TOP of the stairs - bad Em - could at least have left him at the bottom!!!!   Still, I agree, "yap" is better than "scream" !

Admit it, he's winning you round :P :P :P  I think he needs a name change though - Pteppic makes me think of Peptic, as in ulcers   Ah, now perhaps that's the REAL reason behind the screaming ........

You dont read Discworld books do you!

Pteppic is an assassin from the book Pyramids.

I DID leave him at the bottom of the stairs, he can do UP a lot better than down -- he got up there on his own, he can learn to come down because when dill was tiny i was FOREVER running up the stairs and carrying him down, only for him to zoom back up there!!!

He is snoring like a pig now, so im going to take my chance and go to bed!!!

Loved your phraseology in your first post - very entertaining - I can just imagine the scenes you have painted. Looking forward to hearing more as he gets older!
