We currently have a wonderful big Wildlenell dog with fantastic markings, temperament, movement etc (just about to turn 3 yo) and would like to breed from him.  I understand that we need the permission of the breeder (to lift restrictions) and would appreciate advice on what we would need to do.  He is very well socialised but has not been shown due to my commitments competing with horses.
TY in advance.

Contact your breeder in the first instance , he or she will be able to guide you :)

Contact the breeder and ask.  Did you have anything in writing stating under what circumstances they might lift the endorsements, after all there may be a reason not to lift them under any circumstances.

Also the chances of anyone wishing to use and unknown unseen male are low, so the breeder would be needed here to to recomend him to other breeders if he is outstanding.  Otherwsie the only way is to get ih there and show/work him to appeal to more to the bitch owners out there than his rivals.  :D

You should get him Hip Scored and carry out any other breed specific health tests first of course.

( in the nicest possible way) Can I ask?

Why do you want to breed him? How you know he is good enough to breed from ? Most well bred dogs have what your dog has but some will have been shown.

Looking at it constructively , the reason for using a particular dog is he is such an outstanding example of the breed and has something to give the breed that others don't.

The other thing is when they are used at stud more times than not their behaviour changes.  A unshown dog generally doesn't have the demand a shown dog or worked dog does. If using a dog at stud it is true once they get the taste they want more. How do you get more and are they the most compatiable bitches.

Just food for thought as there is a lot to think about first.
