I'm not entering many champ shows this year as we can't go to crufts as our breeder's judging next year.   I would normally enter post grad, but question - I'm about to send off an entry for the hound show in august, but am deliberating whether to enter willow in open, as if by any remarkable chance she gets 3rd place or higher she'd get her stud book number.    Do you think people generally look down on you if you enter a class which you're not 'qualified' to be in?   

Depends on whether she will look out of place there.  In my breed the difference in development between a post grad exhibit and a limit and Open can usually be seen when they line up.

On the other hand those who don't show a lot often put there dogs up into the class they look right for even if they haven't one out.

She'll be nearly 3 so she certainly wouldn't look out of place development wise - just don't want to ruffle any feathers if it's not the done thing.

The only problem you will ahve is if tyou then want to drop her back to PG or Limit as you may get the odd raised eyebrow then, but otherwise I don't think anyone is going to go checking back on your dogs show record to check whether she has won out of the other classes or not.

On the other hand if they are that wya inclined in yoru breed then I wouldn't enter her in Open but Limit.
