Buffy is a 6 mnth old Parsosn terrier, her dews were removed before we got her,  at  few days old I guess. However one was not removed properly and is now growing back in on its self, despite our efforts to keep it trimmed it now has to be removed, the vets are great they have advised me that whilst routine its still serious, is this our only option, and has any one had any expereince of this. I'm on top of these sort of things with the horses and always feel confident its the right thing, but am nervous of my baby having an Anaesthetic :( and the risks invovled of it being so close to tendons etc.

Some moral support would be great (even if I am worrying about a silly thing!!)

Hi! One of my girls needed repeat surgery on one dewclaw which hadn't had the bone entirely removed, and which tore through the skin when she was about a year old. The surgery was straightforward, and a complete success. She's 10 years old now and has had no trouble from it since. Hope this helps.

My old JR had to have hers removed when she was quite young as they were terrible and kept catching in everything.  She certainly didnt seem any more stressed than any other operation try not to sorry.
