Just spent three days in Spain visiting parents, walked dowm to the local bar at lunchtime today only to come face to face with 2 Spanish Mastiff pups! Only three months old but 20kg already. Went over and spoke to the owner, who also owns the bar, and ended up going back to their house to meet Mum and Dad. Fantastic, seen lots of pictures but never in the flesh, made my break (don't tell the parents) :-D

I would love to see some in the flesh too! I bet they were beautiful! :-) I have a 3 month old English Mastiff puppy and he weighs 25kg!! Everyone he meets thinks he is older because of his size. I hope i get to meet some other Mastiff breeds sometime. LUCKY YOU!!! :-)

Three weeks ago I went to Italy to visit my new Tibetan Mastiff puppy while there I went to a show and also  met my first Spanish Mastiff's they were very large compared with other mastiffs even the Neo but the nature seemed to be very gentle.

            Hope pup got home OK. Well done at Three Counties, best bitch with a youngster is great, apologies if my info is wrong! :-D I haven't entered George into anything until WKC (maybe bournemouth) as work is a bit hectic at the moment, but I will be at Malvern on the 16th to spectate.

Well the 3 Spanish Mastiff's that I've met are big softies.  Great for warning people away though :d

E-mail me on spanishwaterdgogs@supanet.com an i could put you in touch with my friend who doesn't breed but does have this breed as guard dogs at his ranch.  Over the 13 years that I've known him he's had one of these to look after his ranch and they've been wonderful girls.  He would be able to tell you more about their character etc. and whether they would be suitable for you and if he thinks that you'd be suitable for them.

Hi Dianne,
               Thank you I would be interested in the breed and may well do that. I am not really looking to own one I was just impressed by them. These were farm bred dogs and I could have come away with a pup for 150 euros! Two TMs is quite enough, my next addition will probably be a gundog, just trying to narrow it down.
