I thought I'd post this here as I'm sure some poor soul in the South Derbyshire area is desperately searching for this cat.
She is a full pedigree who just appeared on the A444 outside my house on Wednesday morning, beautiful well kept female but unfortunately just starting with cat flu symptoms, well they manifested themselves within 12 hrs of arrival in my cellar. I've advised the local vets who have a lady working for them with the same breed so has rung rescue, so have I, local breeders, cat protection people, pdsa, rspca the list just goes on. I've had it announced on Radio Derby as well as putting adverts up in my local area and talking with rescue and catteries near by but nothing no one has come forward to claim her or even enquire about her, she's been treated for her infection and is in quarrantine in a large dog run in my cellaras I have cats too.
Anyone in the area of Swadlincote who has lost or knows of someone losing a pedigree cat please contact me with a breed and description of her as she is slightly different for the breed.
That's really sad, but how lucky that she came to you.
Have you thought about trying the cat magazines? they might put a piece
in their mags for you, as some people that own pedigree cats get these mags.
I must admit if I see them and they have an article about Maine Coons or Norwegian
Forest cats I have to buy them. They are my fav two breeds of cat (I have semi-long haired moggies)
Sincerely hope that she finds her owners soon.
Kindest Regards
Kirstine

Try posting on www.kittenlist.co.uk - might be of use!
Hope you find kitty's proper home.

Schip - Hows the cat doing? I'm sure his/her owners will be found if they are looking for their cat..
I foster cats and kittens for Cats Protection & I am quite involved in the charity. I know they will do their best to reunite the cat with his/her owners if they want their cat back.

I've just found another breed welfare name and number on the net today and rang the lady, she was very helpful and a tad unimpressed with her owners as she's of the oppinon if they'd lost her and knew they should have been in touch with breed welfare before now I can see her point, we did wonder however if she'd escaped whilst in season and her owners are on holiday so I've agreed to keep her here for at least a mth just to give them time to get in touch. After that she's off to the vets to be neutered and she'll stay with us as I must admit I'm getting quite attached to her and breed club will foot the bill for her neutering which is good.
Then she asked me how the cat was looking etc and decided she was either coming into season or she was in Kitten, if the latter could I still cope, yep no problem say's I got 2 litters of pups here so a litter of kittens ain't gonna make that much difference, I was having my chickens on Tuesday and have had to cancel them as the cat is using their run and coop during the day for some fresh air away from the dogs - not a word from anyone re my zoo ok?

Schip,
She may have come from further afield

in my breed (Burmese) we advise people to keep them indoors as they are likely to get into a car/lorry and travel hundreds of miles before getting out

Hope you find her owners, they may be frantic, I know I would be.

Breed welfare are now advertising her on the net and screening any calls about her that they get before passing folk onto me when they're pretty sure she's theirs.
Have found out what was wrong with her after a 2nd jab failed to improve things, she had to have all her rear teeth top and bottom pulled yesterday and goes back for another antibiotic injection tomorrow to clear up the infection in her gums poor mite. She's a lot happier now despite surgery and all that goes with it, she must have been in intense pain to want to eat loads after having them out, it's also possible she's in kitten as her teats are starting to show and clear of fur but they've also said it could be because she's coming into season I should find out in about a week if she starts 'calling', apparently I'll KNOW when she starts calling for a male lol.

Can now reveal she is a Bengal as all calls are to be directed to breed welfare even the one's that come to me so that takes a lot of the worry out of the issue for me at least.
Always knew there was a reason why I breed dogs and not cats fancy showing the same signs for a season AND being in kit too confusing for me so once her time on the net is up and we know one way or the other her condition down there she'll be spayed if needed.

Oh you'll know all right Mandy :D :D :D

<apparently I'll KNOW when she starts calling for a male lol.>
Oh yes!!! :D
Anne

Yes - you will know if she's calling - although some are more obvious than others.
I'm sooooooooooooooo jealous - I really like Bengals.
Hope she's ok, keep us posted. :)

Ermmm I'm now starting to worry you lot re the volume of this madam when she's in season if she has one - she's vocal enough without a season if she's not best pleased with something EVERYONE knows she's such a character and obviously had a collar on when you take a look at her fur around her neck. Hope they find her owners she's cost me £150 plus so far at the vets and she's still in pain poor soul her mouth is very raw at the back the vet says, had to agree as she scratches wrong and screams jumping up the wall all claws out trying to get away from it.
She's now taken to coming for a nap on the bed with me rather than just sitting in the bathroom window so she must be feeling better most of the time.
