Was anyone at Dundee Open show? my friend asked me what won the pastoral group, even though I was in BIS ring I cant remember what breed it was, does anyone know?

BIS was the Poodle RBIS was the Newfoundland.
Good day wasn't it. One of my classes had 15 dogs which is amazing for us up here. I got BOB in my breed.

It was an excellent day cos it was my poodle that won BIS!! Which means I also got £50!! Was a lovely show and at least the weather wasn't too warm for dogs. What I needed to know was what won the pastoral group as cant remember what was in BIS ring with me. Well done to you, what breed do you have?

Sorry Fifi , I half read the post :-D what a dimwit I am at times :-D ;-)
Well done to you for getting BIS.. First time in weeks I have not done well in the group but my lad I had with me is only days out of puppy and I have the feeling although I got BOB the judge wasn't a westie man ;-) don't ask me why. My little bitch who was only 2 days over 6 months. ( second time on the lead I am ashamed to say) got 3rd in a huge AVT minor puppy class so was pleased with her first outing. I took her for practice and she showed well. She has no coat just now as she has been stripped bald :-)
I thought the show was very good yesterday. They are doing well with the show very professional indeed I think.
It feels like a champshow when you are up there do you not think?

yes, thoroughly enjoyed it, our bernese got 2nd in open class and a 3rd in stakes, like the show as can always get lovely walk through park at the end of the show. By the time we got back to the car the BIS judge wouldn't have recognised her BIS in show as she had half of Camperdown Park attached to her coat!!! Good show for bringing out your puppy as its as near as ch show as you can get. Do you know what won pastoral group?

Aw, wish I'd known you were going

I was there my with little girl so could have come and said hi! She won the junior class and ended up winning BOB but she's still too much of a baby so we didn't bother to stay for the Group - apart from the fact she's too raw we were on first thing in the morning and it would have been too long a day for her with an 80 mile drive on top each way.
Cracking show though - we usually always try and get to it - one of the few in Scotland that classes our breed at all, goes to the trouble to provide a breed judge and it's especially great to have an outdoor event as well.
Oh well, I'll just have to make a point of tracking down the CD brigade next time! Teri :P

Oh Teri that was a shame. We should make a point to mentioning the shows.
ChristineW tracked me down :-) as we keep missing each other also. It was nice to meet Christine finally.
I was at Kirkcaldy yesterday also.. so a tired lass today :-)

Hiya
Sorry can't help you out, but thought I'd say that my youngest Irish Setter won her Junior class. I'm very proud of her as it's taken me ages to get her settled enough to stand for the judge to go over her. My Gordon Setter girl who had puppies 11 weeks ago came second in her class. The judge did say to me that if she hadn't of been out of coat she would of had the class :D :D :D

Well done Alli :D
We were at christchurch yesterday and Alfie got a shocking 4th out of 4

:( EVERYONE, even the lady who came first (who I knew from the catalogue would beat us even before we got in the ring - because she is a really nice bitch and has done stacks of winning) said that he should never have come 4th, its because he is such a big chunky boy and up against the graceful "racy" girlies he looked like a bumbling fattie :D :D
We did slightly better in the AV class by getting a 3rd out of 4  ( but then apparantly we were robbed then too :D :D :D )
Nice day out though, excellent weather so a few beers ringside went down well - and thats what really counts :D :D

Hiya Claire
Don't be too disappointed, you win some you lose some. In my case we generally lose all of em :D :D
I hate looking in the catalogue as it usually puts me on a bit of a downer lol especially when I see whats in my class :D A stiff drink normally clears that up though :D My wee girl is still very raw and immature and I have been told countless times that she'll do better as she gets older as she is going through her ugly duckling stage. Sometimes I feel like chucking in the towel and giving up, but then I think about it and realise how much I'd miss my showing. My poor OH was kinda huffed as I showed Maddie (He shows the Gordies normally) I've never even attempted to show her before lol. I thought I'd better get some practise in for when my Gordie baby Ellie is ready to show. I think he was more upset at the fact that Maddie (his girl) stood and moved beautifully for her mum :D :D :D
He is much better than he used to be as he used to hate the fact that all my dogs are proper little Mummys girls :D :D :D

I always look in the catalogue and pray the decent ones wont turn up

:p
Im not too disappointed, none of the "family" did that great so we will know not to bother another time - three counties on thursday, lets hope we have better luck then :)

Hi Claire
Hope you have a really good day on Thursday. If you do remember to come on here and have a little brag about it!! :D

LOL thats if there is anything worth bragging about :D :D

I went to Dundee too. Was a great day! Storm won BOB and Dylan got two 2nds.
Congrats to everyone who did well.
Sarah.
I was at Dundee, too. Didn't do too well. Seska got 5th (they were only giving cards to 4th!) Chance got 3rd (out of 4) Mind you, Seska's older half-brother went away with BOB. :) Her litter sister did well. She'd only been put on a lead a few days before the show and she came 2nd, beaten by a dog a year older than her ;)
Well done to everyone there. Didn't realise there were so many CDers in the area ;)

Well done to everyone who had a good day.
Teri, I have Large Munsterlanders :D , just like ChristineW ;) Well, not quite, mine are nicer (just joking Christine!! )Well, I have to be biased, don't I? :D

EErrmmm Linda??????????
I was there Teri but not until the afternoon, I only live 8 miles from the venue so I went to track down Mike Trafford to get Mia's photos taken after her RCC & RBIS win at the LMC champ show the Sunday before!!!!!!!!! See Pam I got it mentioned eventually!!!!!!!! ;)
I did say only joking Christine ;) After all, your dogs have RCC's or CC's, and mine don't :) And I am very biased. ;) I have to like mine best.... after all, I live with them. They wouldn't speak to me if I said they were awful, would they? :D

I know, hen! I love Asti no less than Mia...well probably a bit more! ;)

> I know, hen!
Now if you'd only used that phrase more often Christine I'd have remembered you were up here  :D :P Belated congrats on your Club show success!
Teri :)

Just as well you said you weren't there 'til the afternoon Christine! I watched the LM classes and wondered where you were, LOL! Then I read the message above saying you were there and thought "crikey I'm going mad cos I didn't see her", LOL!!! Congrats from me too on your Club show success!
Lesley
Lesley, you mean you watched and didn't say hi? I might be offended, but I didn't recognise you

so I didn't say hi either. (I was last in the first class, and 3rd in the second! ;) )
Teri, didn't you give my son a lift home one night from ringcraft?

I can't believe that so many champdoggers were at Dundee. I wasn't showing my staffy but am sure she would have won everything!!! If I'd known so many champdoggers were going I would have spent my time trying to suss out who was who from the descriptions of everyones dogs. My bitch was all dressed up in her diamante collar and burberry lead looking quite the little chav and loving all the attention and ice cream. We spent most of our time around the dobie ring and spotting some old faces. Its good to hear so many nice things said about people spending time in Dundee as that quite rare.

Hi LindyLou,
>Teri, didn't you give my son a lift home one night from ringcraft?<
Well, depends on two things really:- (a) 0-10, how irresistable is he? (b) does he go to ringcraft 80+ miles from home?
If the answer to (a) is 10/10 then I'd have to say I'm sure I'd remember

If the answer to (b) is "No", then I'll have to say it's highly unlikely ;)
Teri :P
ps
would your son take a lift home from a VERY strange woman ??????

Lesley,
Had I known you were going to be there I might have got out of my pit a bit earlier!
Christine

Teri,
Di yae mean tae say yae dinnae ken I talk like that?
Christine
(I don't actually talk like that, you can take the girl out of Chingford but you can't take Chingford out the girl!!!!! :D)
Teri, as he is my son I have to say 10/10 :D
He lives in Dundee, so it probably wasn't you, must be thinking of someone else. :( Old age gets to us all ;)

You would have probably missed me Christine, even if you had got up in time, as I spent most of my time lurking between two tents, so that I could keep the mutt under control

He was being an absolute devil, dying to meet the ladies or play with the youngsters that were there, who, of course, happened to be girls, much to his delight

If I didn't love him so much I'd have swung for him on Saturday ;) He's now retired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
