i would like to breed from my 2 bitches whern they get old enough. i have a weimeiraner who is 14 months old and a rhodesan ridgeback whos 12 months old. which is the best breed for having large numbers of pups? the breeder i got my ridgeback from says they can have 10-12 puppies, how many do weimers usually have? how much is a stud fee for these 2 breeds and how much can i charge for the puppies?

Let's hope s0 sandra33 but from what I see in the dog world these days it may not be.  Wish I knew how to do a sad face.

:-(

I want to say (TIC) why not mate them to each other and sell them as some sort of new breed BUT had better not incase I am taken seriously!

(PS I met a pedigree labradoodle this morning according to his owner!!)

I wasnt actually going to answer this but I might be wrong but I think this is genuine as they are saying when they are the right age which means they are aware they do have to be a certain age to be bred from.

Poster if you bought your puppies then you must have idea of how much they sell for.  The stud dog fees will vary but the best person to speak to would be your breeder of both dogs.  Personally though if you are in it for money then you might be very sadly dissappointed as there are no guarantees on quantity.  I have had friends who have had two puppies by ceasarian from a large breed.

The s9imple answer to the title of the post is the best dogs for breeding are thoise that most closely meet the breed standard and are of impeccable temperamant and are in peak health and have been tested for any hereditary conditions that can be tested for.

Dogs are not a crop so quantity is irrelevant.  Breeding should only be for quality!!!!!
