Hope someone can advise.
My bitch was mated on days 10 and 12. If this was successful she would be on her 4th week this week. However, we had her scanned and the vet couldnt be sure so they did a blood test, this came back negative. I was wondering if it is still too early to show on a blood test or if we have just been unsuccessful. If she didnt take at her first mating then she could be out by quite a few days. What do you think? (shes a mini dach)

Unless things have changed recently I didn't think they could do a blood test for pregnancy. I was always told that the test would come out the same whether the bitch was pregnant or in a phantom pregnancy as the hormones were the same. I could be wrong though. It has been known ;)

there is a blood test for pregnancy, tests for hormone that is specific to pregnancy, we have it at work.  you can also send blood to an external lab to do the same test.  small litters may give false negatives, when tested early at day 25, bitches should be tested around day 30,
