hi there, ur bitch will probably come into season anywhere between 6 and 12 months.  some are early and some are late.

The main sign i noticed when my bitch was about to come into season was her 'bits' were swollen.

some bitches go off their food and get unsettled.

hope that helps x

Xena is in the middle of her first season - she's 15 months old  - her mum 'brought' her in when she too came into season a fortnight ago. Bitches can  vary enormously and once their seasons start they may not be regular every 6 months as the books suggest - Lola used to have her seasons every 4-5 months and they lasted for around 30 days - a nightmare ! - since she had her first litter they have been 6 monthly and a more usual 21 days or so

Hi
One of my Yorkies had her first season at 9 months the other one was 13 months. It varies from bitch to bitch I think no matter what breed.

Anything from 6 months to 2 years.  I've had Pomeranian's recently that haven't had their first seasons until 2 years of age and then every 7 months afterwards.  Many of my Spanish haven't had their first season until 2 also.

My toy poodle was 16 months when she had her first season - my mother in laws was 7 months. Must be like humans, when they are ready.

Best wishes

I'm having the oppersite problem my 5month old has blood around the outside of her vulva.  I dont know if this is normal or not because as someone else said it's usually 6 to 12 months old.

Warm regards Susan
