sorry but this is long winded but the vet doesnt know what is going on and I know nobody can really help without seeing the pup but any help would be greatly appreciated.
About 1am one of my puppies started screeching no other word for it. Took him immediately to the vets as he had also lost mucus from his nose earlier and really thought he was dying. Anyway she couldnt find anything wrong but gave him some anti biotics, morphine as he was in pain and also some fluid under the skin as he was slightly dehydrated.
He quietened for a while and I gave him life aid to rehydrate then cried most of the night. He was too weak to feed. This morning his temperature although low was better the vet has given him some more morphine and he is starting to feed again although I am still helping him along the way but he has got a real suck now.
He is very bright in himself and we can find no obvious sign of injury. The vet hasnt got a clue but if anyone has any suggestions I can put to her then it would be really help as I cant think of anything. The worst part is the whole litter is spoken for and the people have waited a long time for him so I will be doubly heartbroken if anything does happen.
Forgot to add he is 13 days old.

Is it possible that he was hurt by one of the other pups or the bitch? perhaps his tail was bitten or something? Pups do screech sometimes if this sort of thing happens ;) Are his poos and wees OK? If he wasn't suckling properly could he have swallowed air and got windy?
My pups started screeching and growling when their eyes started opening - it was a very strange time and they scared their mother for a few hours - she was afraid to go near them :D They were so feisty it was comical - but only once we understood what was going on, we were worried at first.
Hope he's ok now

I was thinking colic or constipation. When they get constipated boy do they scream.
The vet thought a similiar thing but she wasnt sure he could get constipated and no poo was coming out on the thermometer but colic could well be it as he is a real guts permantly feeding and he had a bloated tummy and was holding his legs tight against his belly a bit like a baby with colic. It was when his belly started going down he started drinking and shut up.
He is now drinking really well and incredibly quiet so lets hope so.
Thanks for your replies as I would never have thought that I had him dead and buried yesterday.

Don't like sometimes to post treatment too much on the net but I have found a little drop of liquid parifin which you can get over the counter at boots ( used for constipation ) generally helps.

Yep this was what I suggested to a freind with his first litter and we ended up at the vets paying nearly £100 for vetr to say that this would probably be a good idea as she coudl find nothign wrong. We also got some Gripe Wter and both these eased the gutsy pups problem. It was about two weeks old.

Thanks Brainless. I hate sometimes recommending these things on the internet but these are old tips from old breeders ;-)) They have certainly both worked for me the gripe water and the liquid parifin. It is just getting people to use common sense with qtys and usage.
Well my vet is now grateful to you all as well as she hadnt thought of that either. If only I had come on here first I would have saved myself a £150 so it just goes to show how useful the internet is ;)

What a shame TTS but hey you would probably better be safe than sorry.
Fingers crossed things go OK from now.
I always had gripewater when I had litter puppies
I dont mind in the slightest really Blue I honestly thought he was going to die with the noise he was making. Thats another thing I can add to my mine of information. He is looking very pleased with himself today :)
