Hi Guest,
I have Beddies :D and they are wonderful :) They are great in the house, quiet, happy to laze around, not noisy, gentle and playful, loving, affectionate.... I could go on forever :) They also can have a sporting instinct but this depends on the strain, some strains have stronger instincts than others (even some show dogs will hunt if introduced young enough) They love to race around and let off steam and will walk for as long as you can :) My own dogs see game and look to me before haring off after it which gives me time to stop them :)
There are a number of Bedlingtons who are registered PAT dogs, agility dogs, dancing dogs and some do obedience :D
Like all terriers they do have a tendency to question commands on occasion but can be trained to recall fairly reliably (no dog is 100% anyway)
My own dogs are well behaved, don't cause fights (although if
really pushed they will defend themselves) and are obedient enough for my liking - I can take them anywhere :)
The coat is non shedding, rarely smells, really easy to care for and many owners learn to cut/clip it themselves rather than go to groomers who always seem to want to 'poodle' them ;) a brush and comb through on a regular basis keeps tags from forming :)
As you can see I'm besotted :D
Be sure to ask about Copper status and see certificates showing this as there has been some copper retention which breeders are DNA testing for and breeding out. The links below will tell you more and will help you find a good breeder, be prepared to wait tho as the good breeders don't have puppies available all the time.
