I found this website which has fireworks and thunder noises
so I'm playing it to Oscar (11 week old Shih Tzu) so far he hasn't even stopped chewing his chew so I guess thats a good sign?

Both my toy poodles are fine with loud noises but my mother in law had a min toy and the vet had to give her a sedative tablet during bonfire night every year. I think it just depends on the characteristic of each individual and also if they have brought up around noise in general. I wish somebody would have played crying/screaming baby noises to me before I had my children.
I dont think any tape would get you used to the noise of babies crying i have a two half year old and a seventeen month old and the carrying seems to be endless with all the tandrums. Caz thats an excellent reaction.
Warm regards Susan
Thinking about it with 4 and 6 year old kids screaming and shouting and crying constantly why should a few fireworks and thunder noises bother him.
I guess kids to tend to desensatise (sorry about the spelling) puppys to most noises!!
My parents in laws dog was a nervous wreck with fireworks and I really don't want that for Oscar and by the time November comes he will be 8 months old and it could be too late by then!
He should be okay if he sits there chewing his bone turn the sound up, then if he still chews his bone praise him for ignoring it, by the time you've finished you wont to have it on the highest volume you can get and if he still ignores it he wont be bothered by bonfire night at all. I do this everyday to my dogs, the westies hate fire works, they dont hide from them though they run round like nutters barking and making strange noises so they have started listening to it to and where getting there slowly.
Warm regards Susan.
