Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / DOG TRAINING IN LIVERPOOL
- By IBW123 [gb] Date 04.06.05 16:00 UTC
Hi,

I'm a Scot, living in Liverpool.  I live in Aigburth and know Liverpool OK (ish).  I don't however, know any other dog owners here who have had their dogs trained.

Penny is a 12 week old Vizsla and I have a training class lined up, but I thought I'd just ask as there seems to be a lot of dog lovers on this site.

Also, Penny thinks the Sofa is her place to sit and sleep, when not in her cage.  She is really good, sleeps well and although I don't mind her being on it, I'd like to be the one who decides when she can come up.

I've tried the big NO!  and turing my back in the corner of the room etc.  When she's tired, she will wait until I give the signal to come up.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi

K9-2000 up at the Riding School beside Calderstones Park.  I actually started today.

It was really good and the people were very friendly.  Have you used another school or have you heard of this one?

Hi

K9-2000, up beside Calerstones Park. We started today.  Was really good and Penny was used as the show dog in the middle of the class (twice).  She is great at sitting and lying down, so luckily I wasn;t shown up.  She was (in my view) the most energetic dog there though.  Don't know if that is good or bad.  When the trainer was talking to the class, most dogs were shy and keeping very quiet.  Ahe was waggy tail excited.  Sniffing everywhere and taking every opportuntity to dig up the wood chip floor.

I have socialised a lot and tried to get her to meet all sorts of dogs, noises and places.  It ssems to work in a way as she has no fears.  Could this reverse though and make her a cheeky/cocky bitch?

Hi i have a friend who goes there and she told me it's really good and on judging how her dog is trained i would say it is definitely good there.

Warm regards Susan
