Milo my Jack Rusell is now 4 1/2 months old and is worse than a wild bird.
He goes round the lawn tapping the ground with his nose and listening, then he suddenly dives in and pulls out a nice big juicy worm, which he proceeds to rip to shreds and eat.
Its absolutly disgusting, but he is obsessed  .
Any ideas how I can stop this foul behaviour. I have tried distraction with food and toys, but worm hunting is much more enjoyable to him than anything I can offer

Hi Bev, free raw meaty food and he even catches it him self. I wouldnt of thought earthworms will do him much harm, he must be an inteligent pup to work out how to do this. As to stopping him how about a squirt of water (assuming he doesnt like that) there must be something you can do other than concrete or paving slabs.:-)

How about providing him with something to stimulate him mentally - like a Kong stuffed with food, or a treat dispense?

Have tried the Kong stuffed with everything imaginable, but he won't even leave a worm hunt for a treat in the hand, any toy or anything.
Oh well i suppose when people ask what my dog is fed on I shall just have to say PAH Complete Puppy Food and fresh worms LOL.

Please dont tell Buffy, getting her off the snails, flys and wasps is enough!
