I have just noticed today my bitch looks as if she has mastitis, she was fine yesterday but today one of her nipples is hard and swollen and she is shaking alot, the thing is she has'nt had any pups to feed for 3 weeks now so would this happen so late afterwards, im just going to phone the vet for an appointment

phoned the vet but they cant see her till 6.20pm any advice about what i can do to make her more comfortable in the mean time, ive tried bathing with warm water but she seems in pain and doesnt want me to touch her

Hope she's seen a vet by now and is on antibiotics

Hi Dill yes thanks for asking, she's seen the vet he gave her antibiotics and pain killers, he gave her a couple of injections while we where there, she had a temperature of 104, i was worried about waiting till 6.20pm so phoned up again and they let me go up at 2ish. She seems much better already and has eaten and been playing today so hopefully she will get better quite quickly,

Poor baby - glad they saw her sooner.  When it comes on that fast it needs to be seen to quickly ;) 

Hopefully the AB's will work and she'll better soon :)
