I had my bitch neutered on Friday. She seemed ok on Friday but rapidly has gone downhill. She is not urinating and keeps going round the floor in circles sniffing it. I took her back to the emergency vet this afternoon and he gave her a shot said her anal glands may be full and that she may have an infection.

She came home and was really quiet. She is eating small amounts, drinking and passing motions , she has only just had her first wee now. I have spken to the vet again this evening he said that I should have no reason to worry too much as she should be OK. This is not my usual vet as it is bank holiday

Help urgently needed!!!

Joemolly. I expect your girl will be tender aound her bladder maybe thats why she's being careful about having a wee. Keep a close eye on her. If she's drinking and eating bits just be tender  with her. Perhaps give her some weak dandelion or camomile tea to drink. This  will help. Watch she doesn't end up with cystitis as she may may be scared of passing water if it hurts.

Hope your bitch is doing a bit better.  When I spayed my bitch she would not poo for about five days, she'd start and then stop, it was obviously uncomfortable for her to push.  When she healed a bit more she was fine.

When Sadie was spayed i was concerned as she did not have a wee for three days,she was soon on the mend it is major surgery afterall,hope your girl soon gets well.
