hi, i dont know how old your beagle is or even if this will work, but it works for us and a fellow beagle owner. When they are on a scent mission, we shout loud and run away from them. My husband always shouts 'jogging' and the other owner shouts bye. I know it sounds bizzare but they are so nosey and dont like to be left out so they think we are doing something better. It may be worth a try. My breeder also told me a beagle always returns to the last place it saw you before he/she goes looking. You must have been so distraught. I am very glad she is safe. Does yours eat the soil in the garden?
