I am not a professional breeder. I have a 2 year old smooth coat, tricolour bitch due in season very soon. we would like her to have a litter so we can keep a pup.
Does anyone know of anyone in stirling / central scotland area that may have a male dog for her to mate with?

this will be her one and only litter.
Any advice?

Sam while understanding your reply it is not the way to go .
You know yourself if a person has a mind to breed it will be done, the best way to answer is to put all the facts to them, make some suggestions and give them food for thought, you remind me of my daughter lorraine. She calls a spade a spade , no middle ground with her either :)
I often admire your straightforward approach to things , But I think the guest needs a bit more than that right now . ;)
I would have been more inclined to suggest she just buys herself another puppy and cut out all the worry and expense of a litter . Mari :) :D
