I'm very sorry you lost the pup. That is a very kind offer that someone may be very grateful for. Have you tried phoning a few of your local vets, they may know of someone in a needy situation.

its quite a way ...but all i can offer is free milk and a loving mum .......:)
How about contacting Barbara Stevenson, who is renowned for hand rearing puppies for oher people. She may well know of puppies needing a mummy. She published her phone number and email addy in an article in the dog press so I feel its ok to give her email address as she had already put it in the public domain:

So sorry you lost your only pup, what a disapointment and very sad, also what a shame for your girl hope you manage to find her some pups to look after, its very sad for them when they have no pup after all their pain, I had a little yorkie in the eighties that only had one and it was born dead, but she did go on to have another litter a couple of years later but unfortunately one was dead, and two living, but the day after she had them was saturday, and she usually came up to bed with me, for a cuddle on saturday mornings, and my son not thinking let her out of the sitting room, and she arrived on my bed with a puppy, and by the time I gathered my senses and jumped out of bed to take the puppy back downstairs, she was on her way up with the other one. I don't know if she damaged the pup or whether there was something wrong and she knew, but she rejected it later in the day, would not let it near her, definately wasn't very well, I did everything the vet told me to try and keep it alive but it died at 6 oo clock the next morning. Got so attached to the remaining puppy, could not let it go and kept it even though it was a boy and I really did not want a boy, but she had been such a bad mother to him, leaving him all the time I think he thought I was his Mother, he was like my shadow, even had to let him in bathroom when I had a bath, or he would have scratched door to pieces.
Hope your girl will cheer up soon if she does not get any pups to look after, I wouldn't let her have the toy for too long though. Take it away and hide all her toys for a while but give her lots of extra attention, long walks etc, that was what I did on vets recommendations.
