Hi need some advice please....My gorgeous gal had to have a c.section today as one of her puppies had died & was causing problems for the others being born naturally. She ended up with 10 healthy babes! The trouble is she is just not interested in them. Now she isn`t so groggy she has been out into the garden & won`t get back in the whelping box. The pups just keep crying & she is ignoring them. I am reluctant to bottle feed them as I know mums milk is best. What do I do???

Try smearing the puppies with butter to encourage the bitch to lick them.  I would keep her in the same room as the pups, make her lie down with them and try to latch the pups on to her - she may tolerate this before she will actually start to 'mother' them.  It can sometimes take a while for the bitch to show an interest.  Obviously if you continue to be worried you should contact your vet.  Good luck!
