Dear Message Bored

I though to make your web site more better is to write
more about the puppies. I am looking for a Border Collie
dog and I can find info about the dogs and bitches but
not enough. For example you could write about what
they like and dislike, how to care for the breed and ect.

bored? I am yawning a bit myself!

So get to writing a breed guide Sam ;-).

Actually the guest has a point: I was looking at the breed guides on the main site last night, and was surprised that there aren't more. I'd thought that most breeds were covered, but in the hound group thre are only guides for the basenji, basset, wire-haired dachshund, deerhound, irish wolfhound, otterhound and whippet. The working group is even worse with just 5 breed guides. Its a pity, because the site creator knows what (s)he is doing, and the Champdogs breed guides that do exist score well on most of the big search engines.

There's more than just the board??? :O  :D :D :D

Click here Sara to see why I feel free to pontificate - again <polishing nails in self-satisfied manner> :D!

Ooooooooh --- I'm really impressed :D :D :D Beautiful writing my dear. I'm honored to be basking in your presence :o

But, before pontification really sets in, I did notice some minor mistakes ;) ;)
****Gif picture link didn't come up at top of page
****"Deerhound breed guide" font is what: a size 2? I need my magnifying glass (LOL)

AND the biggest fox paw ;)
YOU DIDN"T TELL THE STORY!!!!!!!!! You know what I"m talking about, right?????
The prince leaving his son under guard and finding blood on his faithful companion??? I know it's a Wolfie, but who knew then??? I've always loved that story.... (spoiled whine ensuing) ;)

But marvelous write-up. It just makes me wish I was in a better position to 'rescue' or own a deer or wolfhound now like someday that I hope will come. I know of a woman who now has a year old Wolfie AND a 6 month old St. Bernard in one of the tiny military Apts on the 4th floor to boot!!!! No way, would I do that. :(

Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa :-) I was asked to send a pic, and never got round to it. Promise I'll do it just for you, and ask Leigh if I can update the thing. Llewellyn's Gelert was supposed to be a wolfhound though, so you have to get at Phillipa about that one.

:D :D :D :D :D :P :P

Yeah, I know he was supposed to be a Wolfhound, but since Wales and Eire were really not that far apart, who really knows? In fact, I bet the fanciers just took over the story on their own for publicity. After all, Scots were a little bit higher on the respect scale from the English than the Irish were. ;) (ducking and taking cover in anticipation of rotten fruit being thrown)
- By Sharon McCrea [gb] Date 02.06.02 18:50 UTC
Hate to tell you, but the whole story was a cod invented by an innkeeper who wanred to boost his trade :-(.

Dunno about the Scots being higher than the Irish on the English respect scale. The English have always resented both the Scots & the Irish for being higher on the evolutionary scale than them :D. (ducking and taking cover behind Sara in anticipation of rotten fruit -and worse - being thrown)

So since the story was "made up" after all, who really minds that the Deerhound gets adopted as the main character? ;)

Well, the Scots only "recently" became popular because Queen Victoria loved the wild country so much. Still, I've come across enough mentions of the "Scots Race" being frugal, pious, and hardworking in various tomes written during those years and afterwards to make me groan and roll my eyes.

What's even worse are the ijiots now saying their family descended from and spoke "Celtic" fluently.

Dont know about the Scot's and Irish being higher up the respect scale than the English but I still prefer Scotch Malt!

OK, I give up - if Phil won't do it, I'll add the story of Gelert the skinny Celtic hound to mine :-)

- By Sharon McCrea [gb] Date 03.06.02 17:12 UTC
Gina, I have the answer to that husbandly moan, though it took me years to work it out. All you do is buy him is own computer :-)
- By gina [gb] Date 03.06.02 17:57 UTC

- By Sharon McCrea [gb] Date 03.06.02 18:11 UTC
Gina, Ian didn't like computers either, until I pointed out that he could use one for his bagpipe & Scottish dance music. Now he's an addict. I'm sure there's loads of computer stuff for footie fans too .... :D

Dear Guest,
Perhaps you might find more interest in looking for breed websites aimed specifically towards Border Collie owners and fanciers. Just use google as a search engine. Trust me, there are loads of sites out there waiting for your discovery :)

This board site is a compelation of dog owners who like to share information... nothing formal about it. If you register, you could politely ask informative questions to those who have experience with your favored breed. Good luck on your quest.
toodles
