Hi all, just back from being with me mum in UK again. Since her first mini stroke?? on Ester saturday shes been having a couple a week always with head pains, her right arm & leg go numb/dead & very heavy while it lasts & she can`t use them till its gone then they are very weak. A couple of mri scans came back clear, I know they don`t pick up mini strokes tho. Then while I was there she woke with a very bad head pain which didn`t clear & I rang the ambulance & she was admitted to hossy, as it happened she already had an appt. the following morning at the same hossy for a dopplar scan. That showed her arteries are clear & Dr now says its possible they may be some sort of brain seizures??? Shes now waiting to go back to see consultant for further investigations??? Does anyone know what further tests they`ll do or any experience of what might be going on please? Thanks for any info :)
I'm sorry, I can't help with any info on your Mum's condition or tests. My own Mum had a couple of strokes in the past and I know how upsetting it is though :( I just wanted to say sorry she's been poorly and will say a prayer all goes well.
Nice to have you back. Teri x

Can't really help much as no two people are the same. My father had lots of small strokes - but he had Type II diabetes and drank and didn't look after himself. He had a ruptured aorta when he was 65 which seemed to start these strokes. He was very lucky to survive the ruptured aorta. When he eventually died after a bigger stroke and pneumonia, the doctors told my mother that his arteries were those of a much older man (he was 70) :(
Thanks Teri & Daisy :) Mums not got diabetes & pretty well looks after herself, no blocked arteries either so don`t know whats going on :( My hope is they`ll be able to contol it soon. Christine, Spain.
