Hi can anyone whos used this advise if this product need to be flushed out of the ears to prevent a build-up and if so would it be done daily or more/less often?
Thanks, Teri :)

I must admit this worries me so I also once a week use a liquid ear cleaner to bring up anything else which might be down there.

Cheers Perrodeagua :)
I use canaural drops for ear problems and usually just wipe out ears with baby wipes or damp cotton wool but have heard so much said about Thornit I think it mught be handy to have around in the doggy cabinet. Just was a bit concerned about powder getting put down there ..... so at least you've set my mind at rest and I may take the plunge and buy yet another "just in case" item for the K9's comforts :D

I dont think your supposed to pour it down the ear, just sprinkle around the outside of the canal.

Just a pinch every week gets 'absorbed' and there isn't a build up. It's an amazing product and I wouldn't be without it. It has to be seen to be believed really and is much better than canaural. it leaves the ears smellng lovely and my dogs love having it put in, they queue up for it when I get the bottle out!
Edited to add: I put it INTO the ear canal.

I sprinkle it around the opening of the canal and then massage it in,my dogs love it aswell :D

I put it in the ear and use the back of a teaspoon to do so and then massage the dogs ear. Mine all hate it but once I've grabed them they don't fight about it.
Works wonders and wouldn't be without it!
Also work great if you get coldsaws (sp?) on your lips. My brother gets them often and damp your finger and put some thornit on then rub into the problem! Clears up really quick and is always avaliable in this house and we know where is at all times!!!!

Oooh, Ice queen how interesting, I'll have to tell my mum, not sure that she'll use it though :d

Put thornit into your search engine and it will pull up a site that will advise you on where to order from. A small plastic bottle is about £8. Not too sure about p&p.

also great for athletes foot .

although the small bottle last some time. you coul always make your own. the ingreedients have been listed on here before.
Sorry if this sounds really thick, but what is it actually used to treat? Obviously something to do with the ears ;-) but what? Thanks in advance guys.xxx
Thornit is used to help you pull the hair out of your dogs ear which you need to do to keep them clean. Thornit crystallises the ear wax and it make is easier for you to grip the hair and pull it out. It makes it so that your fingers don't slip down the hair because the wax is slippy.
I use the wrong end of a teaspoon and just put a tiny bit in the ear then you rub the ear for about ten seconds. Then start to gradually pull the hair out. You might find that as you go along you will need to put a bit more down so just do it like before. I only use thornit when the dogs have a lot of hair in their ears because if there is hardly and hair you will find that more of the thornit will travel down the ear. Try to keep the use to a minimum as you don't need to use it all the time

Hiya arah, I've never heard of it being used to help strip ears. I use it for the dogs with dirty ears, two of ours sometimes get quite abit of ear wax and their ears go slightly red :( Thornit clears it up tho! Saying that I don't like the smell!
It can be used to get rid of ear mites. :-)
