Hello everyone. I haven't been on this site for ages for various reasons so hope everyone is OK :)
Does anyone have any ideas of a job I could do which would involve mainly walking (as little carrying as possible) and very little if any desk work. I really want to do proof-reading but am coming to the conclusion that this will not be possible. I can't sit at a desk for long, or stand still for long which rather limits me I know but I do want to work (and need to!). Any suggestions very gratefully received.
Best wishes

Dog walking? You could advertise and set up your own little business!
Definately dog walking. (in my area, Warwickshire).
Oh I live in Warwickshire maybe I could leave this boring job and do something I love? Hhhmmm now you have me thinking!
Thank you for your replies. I have thought about dog walking but a little worried about the responsibility of caring for other peoples dogs (although we do often care for friends dogs with little trouble). I have spoken to a dog walker who has said she has had problems such as not being told a dog is 'aggressive', not being told a bitch is in season (would you believe) etc. Does anyone here actually work as a dog walker? Could you give me any advice? I would certainly not want to walk more than a maximum of three dogs (maybe two) at a time - we have a lot of trouble with dog walkers taking 15 plus round here - so could I actually earn anything from it do you think. Would I need insurance? Thank you for any advice.
I wish I lived in Warwickshire!!

What about working in a kennel or rescue centre?
You can still walk dogs there

You would definitely need insurance treacle.....unless you can afford the risk of being held liable for an accident??? Any one in business needs insurance & its one of the important things to budget for when setting up in business....even as a one man band so to speak :) Are you looking for full time work or p/t? I am sure there must be heaps of jobs along the lines you are looking for but depending on wether its just to fill a few hours or if its a career! If you were down here I am always looking for a show assistant!! :)
Well most shop work involves standing if not walking, as does waiting tables and bar work. If you want to be outdoors there are plenty of jobs delivering papers, post, flyers, milk, all you need is a trolly to carry the load for you.
Also what about gardening or decorating, cooking, ironing? Just dont forget the next couple of months are the bset to be outside :)
A friend does run a dog walking business and often has a waiting list, she earns a reasonable living, athough will never make a fortune as she only normally walks a maximum of 2 dogs, she also gets loads of requests to go in and feed cats, transport to vets etc.
Hope this helps

Well I seem to walk for England :D :D I am a lunchtime supervisor at a High School :D
Traffic Warden..........as long as you don't live near me :D
