I just wondered if anyone had the same problem I am having with my dog.
A few months ago I purchased the Kumfi Gentle Leader to help teach my lab to walk like a lady!  It has been really good but the thing is that if I have to give a slight pull to stop her from pulling ahead the piece around the muzzle pushes up underneath her eye and she has to shut one eye.  She does not like the Kumfi and always makes a great fuss when it is ready to take it off or put it on but I wonder why it keep riding up like this.  It could not fit any snugger or she would not be able to pant.
Any advice?

Kumfi make a head collar and Canac make one called the gentle leader.  thje latter has an adjustable slide and in my expereince does not ride up unlike some other types.  Which is the one you have?

I'd be interested in reading any replies to this as I too have had the same problems. I recently bought a kumfi (with adjustable sides) but have found no matter how much I adjust it it rides up into his eye. I have tried the gentle leader and unfortunately that did the same. I use a leather dogmatic at the moment and its great but unfortunately Charlie likes to have his paddles in the water and it's quickly beginning to rot that's why I bought a Kumfi.

Get a Gencon Gentle Controller. It doesn't go within a mile of their eyes and the lead attaches behind their head high up on the neck so even if they leap about or surge forward they won't strain their necks either.

To clean the leather dogmatic you could try cleaning it with saddle soap and oil Sonja

I have just spoken to the Gencon suppliers but I am slightly confused because my dog walks on the right with the Kumfi but sometimes she swaps across to the left when she gets a scent or something.  Apparently they have to make one for her if she walks on the right but then what happens if she wants to go to the left.  Surely she should be able to walk nicely on any side with any different person.  So I have had a look at the dogmatic site also.  Does the dogmatic ride up into the eyes and as it is leather does it chaffe at all?

My freind has one and it did chafe her nose (she is a doberman) so we sewed a piece of sheepskin around the noseband which I understand you can ask the makers to do also.

The one I have is the Kumfi but I am interested in checking out the Gencon Gentle Controller and the other one mentined in this thread.  I tried her on the Gentle Leader but she was clever and managed to undo the clip under her neck!

The dogmatic doesn't ride up into his eyes atall, if you keep it soft and supple it shouldn't rub. I have found it leaves a stain on him but that doesn't bother me. I think a lot depends on the shape of the dogs muzzle to get the correct fitting head collar as my other dog wears a gentle leader with no problems or no riding up in her eyes but it rides up with charlie.
