I have a Westie and a Lhasa Apso who get on really well together.  The problem is my Westie goes mad barking and growling at other dogs in public.  I have no idea why he does this but it's getting very embarrassing!  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks

I think you have to spend a bit of time training him.  Rewarding him when he stops barking etc.

Does he bark around the home a lot?

Any breed which is prone to bark really needs to be taught the quiet commands quickly, I know we have had to do it with ours.  If my bark out back I just have to say " shhhuuuuu " and they all shut up..  everyone has a different word but that is the word we use in our house.  They know ;-)
