Yesterday I went to soak up a puddle that Chloe had done on the living-room carpet, and the kitchen paper appeared speckled with blood. Not a huge amount, but still noticeable. As the carpet is wine-coloured, I couldn't tell by looking at it. Chloe doesn't appear to be ill in any way whatsoever, but could this indicate a possible urinary tract infection? Because she normally wees outside, I've no idea if this problem only started yesterday. Because she's always had a tendency to wee on the carpet during the night(pure laziness~can't be bothered to go out in the cold) the fact that she did it is not in itself an indication that anything is wrong. How worried should I be? She's seven yrs. old and has been spayed, and of course the Vet is now closed until next Wed. due to the bank hols. Can anyone either put my mind at rest, or should I ring the emergency Vet?
Thanks, Michele.

Think it could well be an infection & could be why she pees indoors, I would ring the vet as they will no doubt be going into the surgey to deal with emergency and any who are in their hospital and will no doubt give you some antibiotics. If they are not concerened then I would not worry unless she appears ill, then ring again. Why do they always do this at the worst possible time? All the best hope all is well, Jackie H
