I have a rough collie aged nearly nine - and a rag doll call aged six. They loive each other and get on well. The collie has now become quite lazy - she is perfectly fit and has been checked by the vet - in fact she visits the vet for a check-up every four or so months. It was suggested that I get a companion bitch for her (I have often had two bitches together throughout my long life) and I have now heard of a blue merle aged thirteen months. She is also a show doog ( the original one was an ex-show and ex-breeding bitch who came to us when she was just over three years of age. Has anyone any advice please.
I am very much a recycled teenager though I do go for walks etc. and the merle would be exercised regularly. If anyone can help with suggestions I shall be eternally grateful. By the way, the merle is frightened of cycles and a little nervous when around people - even though she has been shown. She is quite submissive to other dogs and my bitch is very friendly.
Thanks so much to anyone who has any ideas JH

I would take advantage of the offer and you will find a younger one will brighten things up . Some roughs do not like screams, loud noises, bikes , selotape being ripped etc the list goes on, part of them . You should be fine with her, socialise her gradually and gently. stevie.
