my bitch has been panting heavy now for 12 hours is this normal or will i phone the vet? shes very reastless as well, ripping her bed and wondering around

I would call the vet as panting can be a sign of illness and her ripping her bed could be her way of venting her discomfort.

whereas I would say that was all pretty normal and certainly what happened to my bitch when in labour.  Just don't leave her unsupervised and make sure you let the vet know.  As it is the weekend he/she might need to be aware.

Is the bitch in Whelp .. if not I would take it to the vet.

OOOoooh-er!  I've just re-read the original post and it doesn't say she is in labour, which is what I (perhaps wrongly) assumed.
