Yes you can depending on the quantity of bleached area. You have to be very careful as it tends to frizz as it becomes over treated if there is too much colour. If it was me I wouldn't. :-)
I had colour not bleach about 2 months ago and it wasn't a big area done just a few here and there, my hair is a pain in the neck at the moment and i wanted to give it more body or bounce as it were.

It should be OK. The hairdresser will do a test on it anyway.
I am the same I have very fine hair so keep it coloured to keep it thinker but it means I have constant roots etc etc.. oh for the perfect hair and body ;-)
Yes but ask the hairdresser first to do a sample i think your hairdresser will use a lower percentage perm solution, or if she did your highlights she will know if she used 40/60 peroxide

My daughter says NO, not within 3 months of having either done. Some perms will react with the chemicals and bleaches in the highlighting resulting is either frizzy hair or at worst hair falling out. The hair has been subjected to treatments that are not compatable with each other and the stripping of the hair can also result in serious hair breakage. She won't even do a test if the customer says the treatment for perm or highlight has been done within a 10 week period, it is a simple NO. Also some chemicals reacting together can cause scalp problems and affect the roots of the hair, not just the hair itself. My daughter is a Trichologist.

Trichology is the scientific study of hair and its disorders. My daughter started as a hairdresser and as she became more interested, went to college to study Trichology, she has now been teaching for the past 5 years, and is an instuctor for a Large well known company. She has also just signed a lease for her own studio. That last bit is immaterial, but I'm kind of proud of her, so just had to add it on :D

There is also the great possiblity of the perm lifting the new colour out of the hair :( :(
Have to say fine hair is the bane of my life - no product on the market has ever changed that except perms which I am sick of, I'd just like a little natural lift at the roots to stop my hair sticking to my head when its straight :( :(

Dill I have poker straight fine hair, it is usuallu coloured just for the volume I am having great success though with one of the huge metal barrelled round brushes. It doesn't give anything but volume and a bit of height. Very pleased with it. :-)

i have really straight hair I use Paul Mitchels Volumising spray or the mousse. We should be grateful we wont ever have frizzy hair, dont have to worry about leaving time in the morning for straightening hair so extra time in bed. Saying all that I would swap mine for Mel Bs(spice girls) any day of the week.

:-)

Briedog would be able to tell you buth she's been rather busy today :d Maybe she'll get on here tomorrow and advise.

Has she had them then ???????????
I too have fine hair and an awful lot of it! The only answer I have found is grow it long and straight and invest in a big selection of grips etc. Guess 9 time out of 10 it ends up in a ponytail or plat though - but then thats cos Im always cooking or playing with dogs :D

Briedog is really helpful if she doesnt know then she will ask OH, they helped me find a great red for my hair, the only one I have ever used that doesnt wash out.
