My 11 year old Munster Asti at about this time of the year gets a bit 'nibbly' and out comes the coat. Have tried shampoos, sprays, creams, steroids etc... it's just one of these things with her. Her coat comes out and then it comes back in over the summer.

But she has started having a nibble on her knuckle joint of her front left leg causing it to become a sore area, no hair and sometimes she causes it to bleed. Have covered it in Tea-tree lotion, she licks it off, Exmarid cream, she licks that off, now on Bitter Lime spray but it doesn''t seem to have any affect.:(

Any suggestions/solutions? I'm not getting her an Elizabethan collar, she already has enough to put up with, with her 6 week old grandkids without inflicting that on her!

Hi you could try neem oil it is very good for skin conditions and is a deterant for fleas etc.Should say you can get it from canine chemists but you have to ring them as it isn't on their website.Tel:07000456777 .Gillian

Thanx Gillian,

Have Canine chemists catalogue but was looking more at good shampoos so must have overlooked neem oil. Think I may shampoo her though, she hasn't had one for a while and it won't hurt her to get one that's helpful to skin problems-just which one do I go for as there's so many?????????

Off to bed now, it's been a long day................
