Hi Everyone

Well, My bitch is doing the same thing she did with her first pregnancy.  She will not eat anything !   I have tried almost everything.   I am so worried.  the last time i had to mash food and spoon feed her closing her mouth until she swallowed.  she is 37 days from the first breeding.  this didn't stop once it started last time. 
I'm wondering if anyone has had this happen and came up with a good solution. I'll try anything.  I have to go away in 9 days for a week !   Otherwise I could spoon feed her.

my bitch is the same at the moment she is due next week, and is living of chicken, ox heart mind you it stinks but she likes it, and packets of wafer thin ham, i was also told to try oxtail soup although she would not drink that, she has also been eating pata, hope this helps

i also have this problem with my bitch she is 52 days from 1st mating and the only thing she will eat is minced beef and wafer thin ham i have also started soaking puppy complete food until it is like mash and then mixing it with the mince, this seems to be working.

When my girl was preganant she stopped eating about 40 days in. I found that she would only eat raw flesh. I bought tripe for human consumption that wasn't chopped up and it was eaten withing seconds, she also loved pork belly, raw steak that had been frozen then defrosted and chicken wings, however she couldn't have too many chicken wings as she tended to get a wee bit constipated. I did find if she was being really picky a chicken wing always stimulated her appetite and she went on to eat what ever meat she was given afterwards. She went on to have a big strong healthy litter of 7 puppes.
I don't know if this would be any good but it might be worth a try.

HI Darlene...being pregnant can tend to cause them to have an acid stomach thus making them lose their appetite,i have several bitches that do the same thing..i use science diet AD and ID and mix with Eukanuba maximum calorie food very few dogs will not eat the AD. i had one bitch that would onl eat hot dogs..oi vey

Is the science diet AD and ID  a perscription food?   the one thing she will pick at if I hand it to her one at a time is Bill Jack puppy.  I know there is molasses in it so most dogs like it.  She walks around like she is sick to her stomach.  I do see her eating grass but this lasts the whole pregnancy with her !

We are on day 51 from the middle mating and she also is not interested in food but mostly in the mornings. I mentioned this to an experienced breeder and apparently this can be quite normal. It was suggested that I give her a McVitie's digestive biscuit first thing - she eats that AND it stays down AND it doesn't make her eat grass! So maybe it's just morning sickness in our case!

it is the opposite here .day 50 and she has been totaly starving all the way through ......it's just another prob as the last thing I want to do is over feed her ....she is having extra but sits by the food bin all day and cries.

Day 56 here and my bitch just wants to eat everything, anything and as much as she can get, even willing to steal to get more !

Mine ate normally for the first 7 weeks then started eating less and less.By day 54 she was eating nothing but the odd slice of ham and the occassional gravy bone.She did have her pups on day 58 so only had to live on fresh air for 4 days....she was drinking plenty though. she's still not eating as much as I'd like her to and unless I hand feed her or put food directly into her bed (not in a bowl) she won't eat at all.Funny old things aren't they.
I ate like a horse right up to and after having my 2...LOL
