Isnt it spelt Bichon??

I think you may have to join, guest. Are you saying she still has the same symptoms, which is usually impacted anal glands, but she has had them removed?

I find the best remedy for anal gland problems are raw meaty bones :) Such as RAW chicken wings,necks,pork/lamb ribs etc. They make the poop firmer so they naturally express the glands on the way out! But your dog doesnt have any glands, right?  Oi !! I'm confusing myself here :o

Do some research on it first however.

Please join so you can give a little more detail :)

Edited, changed R.E to confused :) Sorry, people who spell their breeds name wrong is just a little pet peeve of mine :)

Awww....come on, is a bit harsh to pull them up on their spelling with a rolleyes! Not likely to join with that reception!

Hi Guest,

We have a Bichon too who tends to get a bit overweight but thats because he's a greedy little so and so and will eat anything, he's always hungry :-)   Our Bichon is on Prednisolone (steroid) tablets at the moment and they do tend to make them a bit hungrier I think.   What exactly has he been on the steroids for and what are his symptoms if you don't mind me asking :-)  Our dog also has allergies.

Hi Guest,

Perhaps better if you join and then you will be able to provide more info for members replying to your post :)   For eg. you say you've stopped the steroids - but did you do this with veterinary supervision or decide to do so by yourself?  It's just that certain meds if given in high dosages and/or over a period of time (Prednisilone being a prime example) should never be stopped cold turkey.

Also re. thoughts on possible allergy, have you investigated this with your vet and attempted to isolate an allergen in the diet?  Unfortunately without more info it's a case of more Qs than As I' afraid :(

Hope you register, regards Teri
ps. don't bother about the spelling thing ;)
