Hi Cally, :-)
The colour has nothing to do with the price in labradors, the quality and the breeding is really the important factor. £500 is probably the going rate for a fairly well bred dog. Make sure parents are hip scored, eye tested some elbow test also.
As an additional piece of advice I personally would go to a breed club member especially with the numbers registered in the Uk of Labradors and Chocs are unfortunately are the ones who are sometimes bred for the wrong reasons. Colour being a priority instead of quality and type. I always say ask yourself or the breeder why the litter was bred.
Good luck.

Cally, in some of you posts you say you have 2 Labs and in some you say you have 3. Now I'm a little confused here, it looks like you got a pup around mid April, but maybe I'm wrong and you were 'getting' a pup. I am assuming the latter is the right one, and you are just looking to confirm pricing etc. I do hope this is the case, and that you are not in the process of adding another pup!!!
£500 for a Lab puppy, regardless of colour, with KC papers etc. is about right.
