I am going to have a whinge - and for once, its not about Willarse.

Why is it in this country that as soon as you get pregnant you are expected to turn into some flowery tent frock wearing, flat shod, swollen ankled person with nothing more in life to do than visit the midwife and talk about babies.

You are expected to wear "comfortable & supportive" boulder holder bras with NO shape, big "practical" pants, and you are expected to whip your elasticated trousers down at every available opportunity for yet another "test" or "prod".

Not content with that - have you ever tried to find a nice nightie for after the birth to breastfeed in? Just to make you feel a bit better? Oh no, out comes the wincyette, down to the floor, flower patterned tent dress nightie thing again whilst you slob around the hospital ward in fluffy slippers.

Life does not stop with pregnancy. Relationships with beloved husbands do not have to go through the mill whilst wifey is treated like she's in calf. When will someone invent a range of sensual kit to wear before, and after, rather than practical, boring and s*xless. Its fine for those stick thin women, but those of us with a bit more bone are screwed

Or is it just me? :)

No I agree :)

You feel like an object rather than a person :( Then as soon as you have the baby you are then ignored as they make a beeline for the baby ! :D Oh and then when all the talk is about babies yawnnnnn........ who really cares about anybody elses baby and what they have produced in their nappy over the last 24 hours :D

Cheer up only a few more weeks to go feeling like a beached whale :p (That is what a consultant once called me in jest !

Ann Summers used to do some pregnancy nightwear - don't know if they still do though.  Worth a try if you're 'into' that type of stuff.

It is funny really how we as people keep the sex issue and motherhood so seperate.   It is almost like it doesn't cross.

Chloe I only had baby but I remember not giving a dam what I looked lol :-D   but I do know what you mean about the clothing and nighties etc.  I had a right granny thing for the hospital.

I always remember the nurses face when I took my little pack of Panty liners out my small case , she said " Hope there is something else in there" :-D    Boy did I have a lot to learn.

Hi Chloe,

Baby number 5 was born at home 3 months ago,I managed to find ordinary clothes just went up a couple sizes same with nightwear.
I'm still breastfeeding and I wish I could have the chance to talk babies more the same as when I was preggas, with running 2 business ,5 children and 4 dogs and renovating the cottage I miss sometimes just chatting babystuff and they soon grow up.

Although I find breastfeeding I've increased my weight which I know when I stop I must try and lose but prefer to eat plenty and healthy as i can for my milk at the moment.
I will be looking forward to shedding those extra pounds however when I just had him I got straight back into size 14 jeans .
My partner loved my pregnancy shape I enjoyedbeing pregnant too I miss my bump now.

Briony :-)
